COVID-19 Statement

Barring any future notices the St. Stephens Historical Park will remain open with only modifications to our usual procedures. Please visit our Facebook page, St. Stephens Historical Park, and to stay informed on any future announcements.

The general use areas of the park and the trails are open to our day guests and lodgers. Admission for your day visit may be paid in the Honor Box at the gate house. The gate house is not staffed for guest interactions. Admission is $3 for guests age 12 and over, $2 for guests ages 6 to 11, and free for guests age 5 and under.

It is our intention for guests to be able to enjoy the beauty of nature and the fresh air during this time of suggested social distancing. We suggest that you adhere to the recommendations of keeping to your own family group, maintaining six or more feet between your group and other groups, and not visiting the park if you or anyone in your household shows signs of illness.

The playground is closed.

We do not have the proper staffing or equipment and supplies to regularly sanitize the boats.   In light of the current recommendations, we will discontinue the rental of boats.   Guests with their own boats may continue to use the lake boat launch.

Because of the size of our beach and the established social distancing guidelines, the occupancy recommendations dictate that the beach area is closed for day visitors.  Only overnight lodging guests and annual pass holders may use the beach area.  Those guests may use the beach between 11AM - 5PM daily.  The statewide health order was specific to say that social distancing guidelines must be followed for a beach to stay open.

Overnight lodging guests will receive one armband per registered guests at check-in.  The armband must be visible when using the beach.  Armbands are non-transferable.

Annual pass holders should have their annual pass or take a photo of their pass and have it available on their phones when using the beach. Annual passes are non-transferable.

The beach will be monitored and visitors may be asked to show armbands or passes.  Violations of the state health order are misdemeanors, subject to a $500 penalty.

As part of following the social distancing mandate, we are closing the store. Messages and reservation requests left at 251-247-2622 will be returned within 48 hours.

Our park has a small staff. We make every effort to provide clean facilities. Unfortunately this crisis has hit while several of our restrooms are still closed for winter deep cleaning and maintenance. The restrooms are cleaned regularly, but we advise you to exercise caution when using any public facility.

Guests are always welcome in the RV campgrounds and the cabins. Please remember the recommendations on social distancing. If you are staying in a cabin and anyone in your party has any signs of illness, please make the office staff aware of the situation. We are committed to protecting our current guests, our staff, and our future guests.

We are following the situation closely and working to meet the needs of our community while providing a safe environment for our guests and our staff.
