There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about the early years of Alabama history. The museum covers the St. Stephens area from the pre-historic era to the current times.
The "St. Stephens Stroll" featuring living history vignettes was last presented in December 2023. The event will now take place in January each year to coincide with the celebration of Alabama Territorial Heritage.
The Museum recently introduced character dolls to represent Chief Pushmataha, Mahala Martin, and Mrs. Temperance Crawford.
Archaeology digs are temporarily on hold. All digs must be supervised by professional archaeologists, and we are in the process of establishing connections to enable us to host digs again.
